Gurminder Thind
I started lifting weights in seventh grade, and from that moment, I fell in love with it. At 15, football entered my life, quickly becoming my first love. Coming from Toronto, Canada, I had a burning ambition to play Division I football in the United States.
Eventually, I signed with the University of South Carolina, where I immersed myself in their strength and conditioning program. The coaches were old-school and tough, but they ignited a passion in me that I knew I wanted to pursue for the long term.
After a brief career in the CFL, I became a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Texas Tech — where I also completed my Master's in Exercise Sports Science. After a rewarding tenure there, I rose to Director of Sports Performance at Velocity Sports Performance in Piedmont, SC.
When a lower back injury forced me to step away from football, I channeled my passion into founding Performance Evolution. My commitment to continually learning about diverse training modalities drives me to provide my clients with the best possible edge in their training.
“The weight room became my sanctuary — a place where all my stress and worries melted away.”
